A Historical Wedding Ceremony

Date July 4, 2008

A fourth of July wedding is being celebrated by Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross. They tied the knot on Thursday evening in a public ceremony in front of Independence Hall, where the real Franklin helped draft the nation’s founding documents. Their wedding is classical or historical because the bride and groom, as well as the entire wedding party, were in costume for the event. The couple rode a lighted open horse-drawn coach for the trip to a private reception at the city’s historic City Tavern, where Franklin himself dined along with such notables as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. The newly wed have a a mutual love of history and education. Even their wedding announcements are historically designed using Custom Wedding Invitations.
